Luke 19:28-40: Jesus' ride into Jerusalem
Ps. 118:1-2, 19-29:"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. ..The Lord has given us light. Join in the procession with leafy branches... I offer you praise."
Is. 50:4-9a:I gave my back to those who beat me, my checks to those who plucked my beard. My face I did not shield from buffets and spitting.... I have set my face like a flint".
Phil. 2:5-11: Have the same mind as Christ Jesus who humbled himself, and died on a cross.
Luke 22:14-23:56:The Last Supper
or
Luke 23:1-49: Jesus' trial, beating, way to the cross, and crucifixion
Jesus' ride into Jerusalem was foretold in Ps. 118:1-2, 19-29. Jesus fulfilled that prophecy when he did that ride (Luke 19:28-40). Isiah foretold of what Jesus would have to go through during the hours before his Crucifixion (Is. 50:4-9a). Jesus fulfilled that prophecy in his last days and hours of his life (Luke 23:1-49). Jesus knew the prophecies, yet he too "set his face like a flint( Is. 50:9). yet we see him doing that in his last days and hours(Luke 22:14-23:56/23:1-49). Paul tells us that we should be like Jesus and set to do what God has called us to do no matter how hard it might be for us. Even if we must follow Jesus into death (Phil.5-11).
Challenge of the day:
Take the time to thank Jesus for what he did for you. Then ask him to show you what he wants you to do, then become willing to follow him, no matter what happens to you.
Accomplishment of the Day:
How did thinking on what Jesus did for you change you today? What has he asked you to do for him? (write down)
