Steps of Faith~Ascension Sunday

Acts 1:1-11: Jesus' followers obeyed Jesus and stayed in Jerusalem & on the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon the people.

Ps.47: All the people clap your hands, shout & sing unto the Lord for he sits on the throne of righteousness.

Eph.1:15-23:Paul rejoiced in the testimony of the Ephesians, the power of the Holy spirit upon them. Then he posted his prayer for them.

Luke 24:44-53: Jesus speaks to his followers before he leaves and tells them that what he did fulfilled that which was written in the laws of Moses, the prophets, Palms and even his own words. then he goes on to tell them to go and tell others of these great things. He also tells them that he will send the promise of the Holy Spirit to them. so stay there and wait for it.

We read of the prophecy of Jesus sitting on his throne of righteousness in Psalms 47. Before Jesus ascended into heaven where he would sit upon his throne of righteousness he spoke to his followers telling them to stay in Jerusalem so that they could receive the power of the Holy Spirit(Luke 24:44-53). Jesus followers obeyed Jesus and stayed in Jerusalem and on the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon them. then Peter stood up and preached unto all who were there (Acts 1:1-11).  Later, after Paul had taken the Good News of Jesus to the Ephesians and they had accepted Jesus, he had heard great things from others of the great things that they were doing for the Lord. He rejoiced in the Lord when he prayed for them (Ephesians 1:15-23). We too should spread the Good News of what Jesus did to save mankind.

Challenge of the Week:
Who will you tell of Jesus' Love, grace, forgiveness and salvation this week?

Accomplishment of the week:
Who did you share Jesus and his love with this week?

6th Sunday after Easter

Acts 6:9-15:Steven preaches and does miracles. The Spiritual leaders grabbed him and took him to the town council & bored false witnesses against him. But his face was that of an angel.

Ps. 67:Prayer for enlargement of God's kingdom.

Rev. 21:10, 22-22:5:John taken to the new Jerusalem where Jesus is the temple.

John 14:23-29:Jesus said"If you love me you will keep my commandments. When I am gone, I will sent a comforter who will teach you, and bring all things to your remembrance. Peace, I leave with you."

In Ps. 67, we read a prayer that is asking for the enlargement of the kingdom of God. When Jesus came he brought the beginning of the kingdom of god on earth with him. In John 14:23-29, he is telling his followers what they will have to do to be in & help enlarge the kingdom of God. In Acts 16:9-15, we see Steven having a big part in bringing more souls into the kingdom of God. In Rev. 21:10, 22-22:5, God shows John the new Jerusalem which will be the capital of the final kingdom of God.

Challenge of the week:
This wee strive to show your love to Jesus by obeying his commandments & help bring someone else into the kingdom of God.

Accomplishment of the week:
How did you do this week? How did you accomplish you goals this week. Write them down.
