Is. 43:1-7 (Tells his people of his great love for them and how with his power he will help them/go through water (Moses), fire ( 3 Jewish boys)
Ps. 29 (The voice of the Lord is powerful/he rules and blesses his people forever
Acts 8:14-17 (The people receives the Holy Spirit)
Luke 3:15-17, 21-22 (John the Baptist prophesies that Jesus will come in power and baptize his people with the Holy Spirit)
God is powerful! David speaks of it in Ps. 29. Through Isaiah God told his people of his great love for them and how with his great power he will help them (Is. 43:1-7). A couple of examples of these are... 1.God took His people through the water but the did not drown. This is when Moses parted the waters with the help of God, so that His people could escape their enemies and be saved( ). 2. The three Hebrew boys obeyed God and did not bow down to a false god. This got them thrown into the fire, but they did not burn up ( Dan.3).
John the Baptist prophesied that Jesus would come to them in power and baptise his people with the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:15-17, 21-22).
But we didn't see how the Holy Spirit would help His people until after Jesus had rose from the dead and went back to heaven. Then we saw how the Holy Spirit gave God's people the Holy Spirit so that they would have the power to go and tell others of Jesus in the face of all kinds of trials. He still gives us that Spirit today. For there are still many who need to hear ofGod's great love, grace, forgiveness and salvation.
